Siem Reap: The beautiful ruins of Angkor

My love for old buildings and history placed Angkor Wat high on my travel list for the longest time.  I finally made my way to Siem Reap in June 2017 and the temples did not disappoint. My favourite wat - Banteay Kdei The 4-days 3-nights trip to Siem Reap was intended to be relaxing and an opportunity to catch up with sleep after weeks of long working hours.  Overall, we found Siem Reap a sleepy, humid and dusty town with the Angkor complex as its main attraction.  Apart from the temples, there were plenty of night markets and shops selling souvenirs, knock-offs, clothes, artwork within the town centre. We stayed at Anusa Residence & Spa which is a small boutique hotel off the beaten path.  The rooms are spacious, clean and neat.  Breakfast consisted of fruits, pastries and a choice of main, which can be enjoyed by the small outdoor pool.  The hotel is not within walking distance to Pub Street but the hotel staff ...
